At about 3 years since the Technical Regulations for Construction (NTC 2008) and related explanatory Circular No. 617 of 02.02.2009, the commission Structures of the Order of Engineers of Milan has resigned an interesting and critical document that shows lights and shadows of the legislative framework which greatly innovated the field of structural calculations and verification methods.

Beyond sharing, partial or complete, the content of the document, it should be acknowledged that it is definitely a careful analysis of criticality aspects of the NTC 2008. Should seem appropriate that each of us insiders push for the discussion of the topic within our Professional Associations. A broad debate could only benefit and lead all colleagues to a more careful study of the new regolation in order to be fully aware of the issues raised and able to contribute to proposals for solutions.
